Meet beautiful Caroline and her family! She has such a sweet spirit and is such a good baby!  Mom and Dad were warning me about how serious she was, but we were able to get plenty of sweet smiles out of her!

So, I have been dying to blog this session since the first few clicks of the shutter! If you follow my blog, then you have probably seen shoots with this family before. Tavia has been my hair stylist for almost a decade, (am I dating myself?) and she is phenomenal! We have the best time planning our shoots. She is super creative and up for anything. This time we decided for a “Woodland Family” look. Very organic and ethereal. I simply love the artistic freedom that I get from out shoots. Not that I don’t love all my other shoots, but it just stretches my artist’s soul. If you aren’t taking the time to shoot something for yourself, do it…now.

I don’t get to do a lot of senior sessions, because my family and baby portrait session keep me quite busy. I do take a limited few because I really enjoy them. It’s a nice change of pace and seniors are so fun to work with! Jesse was no different! We had a great time down on the farm and even got the bf in for a few pics. They are so cute together!

Oh my! There has been a baby boom!! I don’t know why, but my newborn sessions always come in clusters! Which I love! Here are some of the sweet faces I have photographed over the past few couple months. Enjoy an overdose of newborn yumminess!

Just to show you how behind I am on blogging sessions, Mairejo and Matt’s little guy is already here! (Post to come soon!) I had to share their beautiful maternity session. I love it when my former wedding clients become baby plan clients. It’s just so wonderful to be a part of such milestones in their lives. These two are the sweetest couple and will be wonderful parents.

Still catching up with some blogging!! How about an adorable baby boy to drool over? This little guy was such a sweetie! He even gave me some smiles.

I decided it was time for a personal blog post and what’s more fun than Spring Break? I’m always so pleasantly surprised at how many great things there are to do in the south and in our state. The south tends to get a bad rap, but there is no other place I would rather live and raise my children. Alabama truly lives up to it’s nickname “Alabama the Beautiful” and there are so many great things to do in our surrounding states as well. Over the break, we hiked a local state park, spent a few days in Chattanooga and camped at another state park. Our family loves the outdoors and the weather was absolutely perfect! If you are looking for a quick get-away, I can’t recommend Chattanooga enough. Definitely one of the best family trips we have taken. Happy spring break all!

It was St. Patrick’s Day weekend, so the waterfall was green.

Incline Railway.

It’s a quick walk to the beautiful Point Park from the Railway.

We hit up Ruby Falls too, an underground waterfall.

This is Crawford’s little buddy. This same penguin just kept staring at him. He would swim away and then come right back to Crawford.

Be prepared to eat your way through Chattanooga. Had to get some Sticky Fingers ribs before leaving town.

And conveniently, there is a Moon Pie store across the street.

On the way home from Chattanooga, we stopped at Michael’s uncle’s farm to meet some three day old baby goats. It was all I could do not to sneak one home with me. I have a thing for baby goats.

We ended the week with a camping trip to DeSoto State Park in North Alabama. The park is right beside Little River Canyon seen here.

I have never done a long exposure of the night sky before. I really want to play with it some more, but I was STUNNED by the amount of stars I picked up on my camera. Only a handful were visible to the human eye.

I was so excited for Grethel Van Epps and I to get to host our third Share..The Workshop! We always have a great time working together and also meeting the attendees! We had a great group again and also our first two male attendees! Whoop whoop for the guys!! It’s a long, long day and we cram in a lot, but we want our attendees to leave with full brains and inspiration! We had two fabulously sleepy newborn boys that modeled for us. We always have boys for some reason! (we were tempted to bring out the headbands anyway. We also had a great family model for us downtown. Grethel and I both really love teaching and sharing our passion with others and we are thankful to our attendees that were willing to travel, get sitters, take time out of their busy schedules and even take a red eye flight after a canceled one! It was so great to meet you all!! We also want to give a big thanks to our sponsors and door prize donors. We just love our vendors and they make our lives as photographers much easier.
