    I am a photographer in the Birmingham, AL area. My style is a blend of traditional and contemporary. Everyone loves a nice portrait, but it is the less guarded, more intimate images that stir our emotions. So, I try to capture both!

    When I am not shooting, I love to spend time with my family, travel, exercise and continue to learn more about photography. (It's a bit of an obsession!)

The Van Epps – Birmingham Alabama Family and Maternity Photographer

I have been waiting for this shoot for a long time!! Grethel is an amazing photographer and friend. She is also superwoman! She is pregnant with her FOURTH child!!! All while running a successful photography business, mentoring new photographers and oh yeah, she just opened an etsy shop with hand sewn items. 🙂 See what I mean??? She did my family’s pics last year and wanted to wait to do hers when she had a nice round belly. We did the shoot in her hometown of Helena, but also wanted to incorporate her Mexican heritage some. I love all the fun ideas she came up with for the shoot! It’s fun and nerve wracking at the same time to shoot for another photographer. I love that I can be more free and creative, but I also have big shoes to fill! I had so much fun with this shoot, and she even let me keep the hammock! 😉

Allison totally “photo-bombed” my pic, but I love it!! She’s my buddy. 🙂

I am excited to bring you a monthly post with clothing examples for you photo session. Having been on the other side of the camera before too, I know how stressful it can be to try and coordinate outfits for a family or even just kiddos! I have literally had a nightmare before one of our family photo shoots about clothing! Hopefully these monthly examples will help you some in your clothing choices!

Loved getting to work with Akwen and her family again! She is always up for some fun and has great ideas! I LOVE collaborating with my clients about their shoots! We did the session at their home and even had hubby carry a couch outside. A beautiful and fun family!

Meet the Martins- Birmingham Alabama Family Photographer

I was so excited to meet the Martins for our session this summer! I have photographed both of mom Cathy’s sister’s families and now it was time to meet the last missing link. 🙂 Cathy and her family live in Rhode Island and I was so honored that they took time out of their trip to Alabama to schedule a session with me. They have two super fun boys and we had a blast during the session. Their oldest son, Andrew has AT or ataxia-telangiectasia, you can read more about this disease here. His body may be weak than some, but he is full of life. Apparently, he schools his little bro on Madden NFL and even let’s him hitch a ride on his chair. 🙂 Meet this amazing and inspiring family:
