  • Welcome to my blog!

Hi and welcome to my blog! Glad you could stop by! This is where you can see my most recent sessions and posts about my own life, so look around and make yourself at home!

I am a photographer in the Birmingham, AL area. My style is a blend of traditional and contemporary. Everyone loves a nice portrait, but it is the less guarded, more intimate images that stir our emotions. So, I try to capture both!

When I am not shooting, I love to spend time with my family, travel, exercise and continue to learn more about photography. (It's a bit of an obsession!)

Check out my website by clicking on the "portfolio" link. Also, please to leave me some blog love! I would love to hear what you think! Welcome and come back soon!

Greg and Kelly – Huntsville Alabama Wedding Photographer

Couldn’t have asked for better weather or a better couple! Kelly and Greg are just too cute! (and Auburn fans…War Eagle!) They were married at Huntsville First Baptist and the reception was at Huntsville Museum of Art. We took some pictures in Big Spring Park between the ceremony and reception with just a few onlookers. 🙂 (the park was PACKED!)  A firetruck even showed up at the end of the ceremony! Greg is a volunteer fireman in Auburn. These two have new adventures awaiting them as Greg will soon enter medical school. I am so excited for their future and you can see the love and support that will make them go far! A big thank you to Barbara’s Wedding Shoppe for a beautiful reception, Breanna Fogg (my second shooter) and Awaken, our videographers for the day!

Absolutely beautiful pics….but you had two beautiful subjects! I especially liked the pics inside the church with the beautiful windows in the background….can’t wait to see all the rest!

Just gorgeous pictures, Mr. and Mrs. Greg Thompson. Loved the beautiful church and the outdoor scenes. So sorry we could not make the trip. Love to you both, and have a very blessed life.

How pretty! Especially love the first getting ready shot, the black and white hugging shot of the bride and groom, and the cake!

Virginia Higgins - April 25, 2011 - 10:04 pm

What a beautiful wedding! What a handsome couple, both so good looking and the bride breathless. I am so sorry I missed the wonderful day, but I certainly enjoyed the pictures. Thank You so much for sharing. Aunt Ginny

Matt and Mairejo – Birmingham, Alabama Photographer

Last Saturday I photographed Matt and Mairejo’s gorgeous day! The sun was shining and the temperature was so pleasant for February! These two are just so cute! Mairejo still gets giggly and giddy talking about Matt! 🙂 Their ceremony was at Canterbury United Methodist Church in Mountain Brook. Seeing her walk down the ailse, reminded me of my childhood fantasies of a wedding like Princess Diana. The reception was held at Park Lane with catering by Kathy G and was full of yummy treats! I will make my vote for dessert reception anytime! I big thanks to Mark Hendren at Mark Five Productions for helping hang a dress in the middle of videoing the day. 😉 Also thanks to my great second shooter Breanna Fogg, for beautiful captures again!

Matt’s daughter Addie was the flower girl and a huge part of the day. She is such a beautiful and sweet girl!

I love how the expressions are the same! LOL

About to read the note she wrote to Matt to her family and friends. (she’s trying to keep it together. 🙂 )

First look!

Matt surprised her with a gorgeous cross necklace!

Reading the surprise inscription in his ring. It said “I love you more.” He told her she cheated! LOL Sooo sweet!

almost time! no sneak peeks of Mairejo, Matt!

Thumbs up! It’s go time!

Another wedding where a past couple was there! Love it! Mairejo and LaTonya work together and that’s how she found me.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the favors that they gave away! Mairejo’s father passed away from Prostate cancer when she was young and so they donated to prostate cancer research in his honor for the “favors.” A message about the donation was printed on these adorable mini bookmarks with pictures from their engagement session.

Off into the sunset!

Vickie - April 3, 2011 - 9:33 am

The captured moments of true love are simply beautiful. MaireJo was breathtakingly beautiful and handsome Matt could not keep the smile and showing of love to himself. Every pic shows true happiness, love and the life long dream of a princess wedding.

Share…The Workshop – Birmingham Alabama Photography Workshops

We did it again! So we loved the first Share…The Workshop SO much, that we decided to have another!! I can’t tell you how much fun it is working with Grethel! I think the attendees really enjoy being able to see two different styles and ways of doing things. A running theme we hear after the workshop is how full people’s heads are! 🙂 I think that is a good thing! We do give them so much info in one day, but we want them to really start off on the right foot with their businesses and hopefully avoid any mistakes we made! We had a wonderful newborn model (weighed in at 9lbs 8oz at birth!!) and a super fun family session. It was SO cold, but they were so tough! We are very thankful for our attendees and blessed to have met them! What an amazing group! I am so excited to see where the future takes them! We also want to thank our sponsors: White House Custom Colour, Adorama, The Album Cafe, Nest Eggs Designs, Professional Photographers of America, and The Organic Bloom frame company, Bludomain and Cristen Farrell graphic designer.Wish I had taken more behind the scenes pics, but I was either shooting, talking or answering questions! What a great day!!!

[…] so here we go again! Time for Share..The Workshop. Grethel Van Epps and I will be hosting our third Share..The Workshop. This workshop is geared to those with new businesses or thinking of taking the leap into the […]

Brittney’s Bridal – Birmingham Alabama Bridal Portraits

YAY! So excited that I get to show off Brittney’s bridal shoot! I hardly ever blog bridals because by the time I can actually post them, I forget! I was so excited when Brittney was up for shooting in the Alabama Theater! It was the perfect setting for her “old Hollywood” look. Isn’t she just gorgeous? I am so loving the bridal fashions these days.
