  • Welcome to my blog!

Hi and welcome to my blog! Glad you could stop by! This is where you can see my most recent sessions and posts about my own life, so look around and make yourself at home!

I am a photographer in the Birmingham, AL area. My style is a blend of traditional and contemporary. Everyone loves a nice portrait, but it is the less guarded, more intimate images that stir our emotions. So, I try to capture both!

When I am not shooting, I love to spend time with my family, travel, exercise and continue to learn more about photography. (It's a bit of an obsession!)

Check out my website by clicking on the "portfolio" link. Also, please to leave me some blog love! I would love to hear what you think! Welcome and come back soon!

Triplets turn ONE! – Birmingham, Alabama Children’s photographer

I still can’t believe that these sweet girls are one!!! I am have been so blessed to watch them grow and change! If you want to see how they got there start, you can click here. I don’t know why it happens to some sessions, but I think we had to reschedule due to weather like three times! And we had to do the same thing for the session before this! But I definitely think it was worth the wait! What a wonderful set of little sweethearts!

March family time – Birmingham, Alabama photographer

Well, I am trying to make an effort to blog more “personal” stuff in addition to work related stuff. We had a fun March and decided to stick close to home this year for Spring Break. My in-laws own a camper and so we spent a couple of nights at Lake Guntersville camping. It was my first time to sleep in a camper and well, the jury is still out on that. The weather wasn’t so great, quite cold to be exact, but we still had fun. We also took a day trip to the zoo for some family time before Michael deployed. In addition to all the fun, we also had a special visitor! Our friend Delia that lives in Germany came for a few weeks to visit! She was an exchange student that stayed with my sister-in-law four years ago and we have kept in touch ever since. Even got to meet up with her on our Germany trip last year and tour her home town of Koln. We took a day trip over to Atlanta while she was here to see the aquarium and the Coke museum. Apparently the Coke museum closed early that day, soooo all we got was the gift shop and a pic with a statue of Coke’s inventor. πŸ™ Still had fun though!

that's just gross...I have the grandparents to thank for that dietary contribution.

"hmmmm, is there a whale shark around here?"

OMG! Ash the boys are so big!!!!! I still think of them as babies, so yes, you do need to blog more personal stuff. And I haven’t schlepped my kiddos (it’s a horrible drive for us) down to the aquarium, but I guess I need to. It looks amazing! Kisses!!!!!

You’ve asked for it! Share…The Workshop – Birmingham, Alabama Photographer

I get emails all the time from people wanting to learn more about photography and the biz. So, when the amazing Grethel Van Epps asked me to host a workshop with her, I jumped at the opportunity! We are so excited to offer this to those new to the photography business. We want you all to grow as artists and business owners. The best part of the workshop is Grethel and I have different photography styles. She is lifestyle and I am a mix of traditional and contemporary. You get two brains for the price of one! πŸ™‚ Details are below. Spots are going fast! Hope you can join us!

*the small print: This is not a basic photography class. (we can recommend a few if that is what you need.) This is for folks that have read their camera manual cover to cover and are comfortable shooting in manual mode.)

Laura’s Baby Belly – Anniston, Alabama Maternity Photography

I had to blog Laura’s amazing pics and story! She had contacted me via finding my site online about doing a maternity session. Through our conversations, we found out we had a lot in common! She is a photographer in Oxford and her hubby is a pilot! Small world! We had a great time chatting during the session. At some point she mentioned about all she had to go through to get pregnant. It took them EIGHT years to conceive baby Lyla! What a miracle! I can say that pregnancy definitely looks goon on Laura, isn’t she gorgeous? Miss Lyla will be here soon, so praying for a smooth delivery!

Scott and Beth – Birmingham Alabama Wedding Photographer

I had so much fun photographing Beth and Scott’s wedding last Saturday. These two are such cut-ups and so are their friends and family! Blue was the color of the day and I love how the touches were used! The ceremony music was all Beatles tunes, which I thought was very cool and unique. The ceremony took place at Red Mountain Church and reception following at the ΓΌber cool Matt Jones Gallery. Both Beth and her mother are artists, so it seemed only fitting. Catering and the gorgeous flowers were compliments of Brandy Spears Catering, Inc. Fun time was had by all!

How fun are these groomsmen?
