  • Welcome to my blog!

Hi and welcome to my blog! Glad you could stop by! This is where you can see my most recent sessions and posts about my own life, so look around and make yourself at home!

I am a photographer in the Birmingham, AL area. My style is a blend of traditional and contemporary. Everyone loves a nice portrait, but it is the less guarded, more intimate images that stir our emotions. So, I try to capture both!

When I am not shooting, I love to spend time with my family, travel, exercise and continue to learn more about photography. (It's a bit of an obsession!)

Check out my website by clicking on the "portfolio" link. Also, please to leave me some blog love! I would love to hear what you think! Welcome and come back soon!

Mini Vacation – Alabama beach photography

The fam and I extended our stay after shooting a beach wedding to enjoy some R&R. Hubby had some training to do at Tyndall AFB (Panama City), so we cruised down the coast to good ole P.C. The base has a private beach that is just amazing. It’s what the beach looked like before us humans decided to put up a bunch of monstrosities along the coast. The sun reflected so brightly off the snow white sand, that is was hard to see even with sunglasses on. We also took a little trip down to Mexico Beach, FL. Super cute! I panicked when I saw the sign below, but then quickly realized it was phony. As you can see, we had a little fun with it. 🙂

HAPPY SUMMER!!!

Sweetness! – Birmingham Alabama child photographer

Miss E is such a beauty, and such a great disposition! We had a great time wandering through the gardens and she was enjoying every minute of it. You could see her curiosity about the world around her; playing with rocks, touching water, quacking at the ducks, climbing, etc. I sometimes forget those “first” moments now that my boys are older. I still remember when Trevor first saw the moon. Him pointing at the sky wondering what that shiny thing was up there. I think we could all stand to be a little more curious about things in our world and try to look at them with “fresh eyes.” We will never get all those “firsts” back, but remembering those moments will keep us young at heart! Miss E and her family were a pleasure, thanks guys!

This little angel has the most beautiful blue eyes!

Jamie and Bill – Gulf Shores wedding photographer

Well, who doesn’t love a beach wedding? Jamie and Bill got married May 16th in Ft. Morgan. The wedding and reception were held at the beautiful Mar Vista house. Family and friends all pitched in to make this fabulous event a success. There were many blessings that day. To name a couple, both grandmothers were able to attend and there was NO RAIN!!! The forecast called for rain right during the ceremony time, but we never got a drop. We even had dolphins swim up to check things out! I hope you guys had a wonderful honeymoon and enjoy your sneak peek! (and no Bill, I did not turn the Alabama cake into an Auburn cake in photoshop, not yet… heh, heh, heh)

I’m lovin’ the detail shots, and the blue skies are awesome in the portraits! Oh for the wedding days with no rain! :-p

The B Family – Birmingham family photographer

Gina and her family were the winners of a gift certificate that I donated to the Exceptional Foundation’s charity auction. They were a great family to work with and have such cute kiddos! I had a wonderful time photographing them on one of our few non-rainy days here lately! Since when did Alabama turn into a rain forest?? I have heard that Birmingham gets more rain fall than Seattle per year and I believe it now for sure!

My Grandparents – Birmingham Alabama Photographer

My blog is usually just to showcase my work and what is going on with the studio, but I really wanted to share this pic of my grands. Both have gone to live with the Lord, but they are still a part of my life. I have always known that I got my photographic abilities from my father who has always taken great photos as a hobby and for our family. (I was a WELL documented child, even for the film days!) He took this picture years ago and it is such a wonderful moment! My grandmother had great fashion sense and was never afraid to wear “loud” clothing. The bright pink of the shirt is a perfect companion to her ALWAYS manicured pink nails. I still can hear the “tap, tap, tap.” LOL! Grandaddy was the ULTIMATE gardener. He grew roses, camellias and tiger lilies, just to name a few… He also had a vegetable garden and greenhouse. I would explore the greenhouse looking for lizards and snakes as a child. He lived in the “jumpsuits” of the 70s -80s. I don’t know how many he had, but all I remember was the baby blue one and a red one. They had a metal belt in front that reminded me of a puzzle. He was either in a jumpsuit or his plaid golf pants :). These two are a part of who I am and I am so proud to share their love of laughter and life.
